Longing to Remember, 2021

Longing To Remember was made after hearing the news that a grand jury in Kentucky did not charge anyone for the killing of Breonna Taylor during the botched raid on her apartment. The work depicts an ethereal place somewhere between heaven and earth. A curtain of glimmering light evokes longing and memory; this light is held in tension with shadows of pain and loss. It is in this liminal space where the viewer is invited to both remember and lament.
